Sugar Sweet Sundays: FlapJacks

Sugar Sweet Sundays FlapJacks

I went To Ilford Ursuline, that school is known for many, many things but one of the things I remember from that school is the flapjacks!!! You would think I would remember Pythagoras or how to congregate my French verbs - no, I remember the flapjacks. For good reason to! They tasted like God himself had baked them in heaven and then got Angel Gabriel to deliever them on a cloud!
My friend (Eleanor Coco Larbi - watch out for her book!!) and we have spent most of our lives trying to figure out how to recreate this heavenly treat and I think I've finally done it.
So I hope you enjoy this as much as I do :)
(p.s I'm sorry this posts looks so messy blogger didnt want to coperate with me this morning)

What you need to have a Sweet Sunday

A stick of butter
Golden syrup (8 tbsp)
Rolled oats  (450g)
Caster Sugar (100g)

What you need to do to have a Sugar Sweet Sunday

You a sauce pan chuck in the butter, caster sugar and golden syrup and on a low heat let the butter and sugar melt.

Kinda looks like a heart attack....

Once it has melted add the oats and stir until everything is incorporated (DO NOT LET IT BURN)

Put the flapjack goodness into a a greased baking tin and bake at gas mark 5 for 20mins
et voila

I have to say on this occasion I failed to make Ursuline-esque flapjacks :( I mean these are good! But not Ilford Ursuline good.

Sorry Eleanor

Either way, I hope you have a Sugar Sweet Sunday :)

The Waste Man and The Cheat

Posted by | | 1 comments

Valentines Day is almost over but I want to tell you about sopme tramatic dates that I have had that still haunt me till this day. Please note that no names shall be exposed in this post and only the first date in this post took place on Valentines Day.

There comes a time in every girls life when she encounters thr ultimate wasteman, that makes being a wasteman an insult to other wastemen everywhwere, luckily I can say that I have only ever met four wastemen in my entire 24years of living and this is the story of the very first one I met at the age of 16.

The Wasteman

So I was 16 years old and in college and I was minding my own eating a chocolate muffin (I'm forever eating) anyway my girl gives me a note saying its from Chin Dimple Guy*  and I'm like - notes are so primary school but I was intrested seeing as I had a crush on this guy. He had a chin dimple and nice canerows (yes, I was easy to please)
Anyhoo I read his note and no word of lie this is what it said "Babes, Manz wants to take you out still - and I know you on it"
Looking back I shoulda screwed up the note there and then but no…I told him he could take me out lol
We both didn't have college on a Friday, so that was the day we picked. So I was excited about my date with Chin Dimple Boy - I made on effort, spent EMA on a new dress lol.
Anyway we had arranged to meet at Ilford Station. I thought he was going to take me to Coco Noodle Bar or Nandos (there is a Pizza Hut too but eveybody knows I hate pizza) as those were the only two decent restaurants in Ilford.
Anyway so I'm standing at the station and I see him rocking up and I'm like God in heaven above no way!!!
What came to mind when I first saw him was "cause I'm looking like class & you looking like trash…"
His normally canerowed hair was half canerowed and the other half made Side Show Bobs hair looked like it was laid for the angels.
He was wearing a DIRTY, UNIRONED Lonsdale track suit AND it had a hole in it!!! He had crust in the corners of his mouth and eyes :(
I was like God, this because I didn't go Church last Sunday, you're punishing me, init?
Chin Dimple goes to kiss me! I pretend to sneeze lmao. So he hugs me instead he stunk of B.0 and weed :/
Anyway we cross the road we walk past Coco Noodle Bar and Pizza Hut and KFC. There is one more restaurant on this strip and let me tell you now I already felt like crying.
We continued to walk and then we come to a stop!
We are outside McDonalds!!
I'm thinking of ways to get out of this and his holding my hand leading inside.
My face said it all
This fool had the nerve to ask: "What's wrong? Don't you want a HAPPY MEAL?"
Not even a Big Mac a Happy Meal (these were the days they only cost £1.99)
"No, I don't want a fucking happy meal - you wasteman"
"Who you calling waste you STOOSH bitch"
At this point I was beyond livid. However I was never one to make a scene. So I kissed my teeth turned and left without a word.
This boy proceeds to shout out my name for all of McDonalds and Ilford High Street to hear.
Later on he text me saying he was sorry and that next time he would take me to KFC.
I spent the rest of my college life avoiding him.
I wish I was making this up but sadly it's the truth.

The Cheat
So it's my birthday I believe it's my 19th, me and the girls go to TGI Fridays as you do. Anyway we had this beautiful waiter (sigh) he sung me a special rendition of Happy Birthday and gave me peck on the cheek (screams) anyway we exchange numbers and start texting, the usual flirty banter. Anyway after about a week we set up to go out. We meet up in Central and go to Trocodero and I'm having a real nice time.
All of a sudden he's phone starts going crazy! I mean calls every second - now here's me thinking he is trying to be polite by not answering the calls. So I tell him that it's okay he can take his call. He tells me that it wants to focus on me (looking back it was such a bullshit line but again I was like awww) anyway so the date ended with a peck and a hug.
TWO, TWOs, NOW *Lethal B Voice* I'm getting calls off private number - a lot!!!
Then the text start  saying ish like: stay away from man you sket!!!
I ring back the number and I'm like:
"Who is this?"
She's like "You ringing me- who are you?"
I'm beyond irritated
"You text me calling me a sket"
"Oh it's you, yeah why are you out with my man, can't you get your own?"
"Whose your man"
"TGI guy"
I went silent, this boy had a girl, all the phone calls made sense,
I explained to her what happened, obviously she didn't believe she was on a HYPE. Telling me she was from South and I shoudn't mess with people from South and I was gonna get moved to and blah, blah, blah
I call TGI boy and say "So you got a girl yeah"
He hangs up
I ring back, his phone switched off and it stayed switched off.

Trust there is more, these two are some of the more funnier 'shocking ones I guess lol.
You live and you learn!
So tell me whats been your worst date - I wanna know

Hey and welcome to the 2nd Super Sweet Sunday! (AND THE CROWD GOES WILD) today I made White Chocolate Brownies :)!!
I was meant to make these last week but the turned out horribly wrong and I was so depressed that my efforts failed!!
But I'm back for this weeks Super Sweet Sunday!!!! Yay!!!

Anyway I love chocolate, Cream Eggs, Bounty, Galaxy, Milky Bar, I love it al so I thought I would use my love of chocolate as inspiration this week.

What you need to have a Sugar Sweet Sunday:

2 large eggs (sorry forgot to put eggs in the pic but you do need eggs)
white chocolate (100g)
white chocolate drops
butter (115g)
caster sugar (115g)
flour (65g)
vanilla essence (optional - I love vanilla :))

What you need to do have a Sugar Sweet Sunday:

Okay mix the butter and the sugar together until its pale, creamy and fluffy like a cloud!!!

Melt your white chocolate (I melt mines in the microwave)

Mix in the melted chocolate (It will smell and look sexy but don't do what I did and eat it)
look at that white chocolate flow

Oh this is the bit where you can add your vanilla essence if you want :) and I think you'll want to - I mean you don't have to but I think you should.....

Mix in your eggs

Now slowly mix in ya flour until the mixture is smooth and velvety like

Put your sexy white chocolate mixture into a tin to bake for 20 - 30 minutes

Cut into squares and enjoy - and nobody would judge you if you didn't want to share.....

Sugar Sweet Sundays: Rainbow Cake

Super Sweet Sundays

Hi and welcome to the first of many installments of Sugar Sweet Sundays. So, here's the deal every Sunday, I will blog the sweetest of sweet things and show you how to make them!!! (Yay!!)  So this Sunday I decided to make Rainbow Cupcakes, because living in England sucks, we only have two season Autumn and Winter, so these cupcakes will definately bring some colour and some joy to a miserable Sunday (or any other day)

For this week's Super Sweet Sunday you will need:

Self Raising Flour (110g)
Sugar (110g)
Butter (110g plus another 110g for the icing. Also make sure the butter is really soft, I put mine in the microwave for 10 SECONDS)
Eggs
Milk (2 tbsps)
Icing sugar (240g)
Vanilla Extract (110g)
Food Colouring (I used Red, Blue, Green and Yellow AND you have to use the gel food colourings - it won't work with the liquid ones)
Cupcake Cases
Bowls

What you need to do...

You're basically going to make a simple vanilla cake batter.

So first you wanna cream together some sugar (110g) and butter(110g) till its pale and fluffy....like clouds

Then add two eggs bit, by bit, then mix in the vanilla

Add your flour (110g)

Once you have gained a nice thick consistency, you will need to seperate the mixture into four seperate bowls (well I had four colours, so I had four bowls, if you have ten colours use ten bowls)

To each bowl add your food colouring

Okay, so as you can see I used yellow, but it didn't come out the way I wanted but thanks to my primary school knowledge of colours I know that blue and red make PURPLE :)

Now evenly share each colour into your cupcake cases

Then put into the oven for ten to fiften minutes on gas mark 4

AND THEN!!!!

Arnt they cute?????

Now for the best bit....the ICING :)

All you need to do is beat together the butter(240g), butter (110g) and two table spoons of milk - you have to beat it really hard!!! That way it becomes really pale and fluffy like this....

Now all thats left to do is putting the icing on your cakes  et voila:)

Now have a happy Sugar Sweet Sundayxxx

It's been so long.....

Posted by | | 0 comments

Okay, so my last post was like a million years ago, so I have been slacking, I do have an excuse though, however lame you may think it is. My excuse is I don't have a laptop...but I'm back now. Also I had to go away and think, I didn't want to put up post just for the sake of putting up post, I wanted to produce quality post because that is what you as my readers deserve.

So after having a long think, I've decided on a good direction for this blog which I am going to trial next week.

Food

I love and adore food, its the best thing ever to grace this earth, most importantly I love to cook, so I will be putting up food that I have cooked every week along with the recipes. In fact expect a LOT of food post.

Nail Art Tuesday

I really did like doing Nail Art Tuesday, but couldn't keep it consistent with Tuesdays because of school and sometimes laziness and I think thats were my blog started to fall off slightly - so I'm going to move this to a weekend so I have a lot more time and give my readers quality nail art.

Hair

I'm currently obsessed with my hair and growing it hair and all things to do with hair, so we shall also have related post on here too

Ramblings

I like to talk, I like to talk a lot, some would say I talk too much, I however disagree, every now and then I will speak on a topic that takes my fancy

So yeah, thats what it is, so please stay tuned pour yourself some malibuandmilk and stay tuned x

Smooth & Clear Skin

Posted by | | 3 comments

DISCLAIMER: MICHELLE YEBOAH IS NOT A DERMATOLOGIST, COSMETOLOGIST, I HAVE NO PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND IN BEAUTY OR SKINCARE, JUST MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCES. I CAN NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOU FOLLOW THE ADVICE ON THIS BLOG.
THANK YOU.

Now that's out  the way....

Like most teens, I had spots and my love all things greasy did not help the situation. AT ALL
I also used to pop my spots against the advise of my mother
It left behind a lot of scarring on my cheeks :(
So I started wearing make up to hide it.
Even in the hot summer months I would wear a full face of foundation, yes my foundation did melt off. -____-
So the option was to work on my skin as best I could so I wouldn't have to be a slave to MAC anymore.

So I went ahead and asked Google about natural remedies for clear, bright skin and I discovered the secret!!!

Are you ready???

HONEY & LEMON

Yes it really is that simple and here are the reasons

Benefits of a honey lemon mask:
- Clears acne
- Gentle cleansing agent
- Dries out pimple
- Minimizes pore size
- Smooths skin
- Makes skin glow
- Honey is a humectant so it hydrates ad moisturizes skin
- Brightens skin
- Evens out skin tone ( due to sun damage or blemishes) and helps scarring
- The bacteria cannot live in an environment covered in honey; due to honeys antiseptic qualities (that means no more breakouts)
I don't have a before picture - simply because I would rather die than take a picture without makeup (okay maybe not that extreme, but yeah)
This is me sans make up - after about a week of using my honey and lemon  concoction, day and night!
My cheeks had really dark scars from where I had picked a million spots.
Also in my opinion my skin is much brighter.
I shall update in a week and see if there is any more difference.

What You Need

Honey (Raw Honey would be great but normal works just as well)
Lemon (You can buy the fruit or get the bottle stuff)
A Spoon
A knife (if you are using the actual fruit)

What You Need To Do

Cut half a lemon and squeeze into a bowl/1 tbsp of lemon juice into a bowl
(if you wanna concentrate on softening your skin add more honey, if you want to concentrate on toning add more lemon)
Mix together, you want the consistency of cough syrup
Apply to a CLEAN face :)
Let it sit for 10 mins to an hour/whenever you can be bothered to rinse it (The longer it sits the better it works)
Do this every night before sleep
Or Morning and Night.
Finally use a face cream with an SPF in it

et voila sexy skin!

Just remember consistency is key.
